Summer time , summertime sum sum summertime

So much to say, so much to say-

Summer is here! Which means my birthday came, and I am another year older.26, I can't believe that at all.Where did it go? How did I get here?
`--and I just accidentally posted all the pics before I got around to editing and writing this..and I hadn't even got all the pics up! oOOOPS! Ah well - the LOLS.

Sooo -- Saturday!
Ri's day off and out early B-day/fathers day celebratory day.
We debated a long time about what to do.. even had talks of sending Rory to MotherInLaws, buying a wii (with money we shouldn't spend) and hiding out here playing it all day.
But , we decided to battle the insanely hot (heat index of 110) weather and head for St.Auggy with Lissy,Boo and Cole.
Stef and Wes tagged along for a little while- they had Fathers Day BBQ to attend, In all honestly we were invited to a bunch to that we chose not to attend.(between you and me, I am not a big fan of BBQ's and its MY birthday... I'll do what I want :p ) .

Lissy and I have been plotting a picture for mom. We had hoped to get western pics done of the kids for mom as a birthday/mothers day present.. but a month had passed and we never got the chance to get up there and do it.Their whole living room is all western themed so we knew mom and dad would love it.
Lissy also wanted to check out the Lightner Museum- some friends of theirs are talking about getting married there and I guess she is sort of considering it.

We parked in the overpriced parking garage and headed for St.George street. It was a million degrees we were all hot and melt hopping into any shop we could to be cooler.

Lissy slung her puppy - her babe was too hot for that.

Popped in a surf store and found the summer dress I had been scouring the universe for.
A maxi dress- or long skirt - that was long enough and NOT some obnoxious neon color. It was gorgeous, name brand, and on sale BUT still much more money than I wanted to spend...but well, birthday money, Ri got it for me. It's soo pretty , and the dress I am wearing in the top pic .

The 1st olde tyme picture store we passed was busy with customers so we kept walking, the second one was filled with young girls and we the sign displayed was STEEP . When we asked one of the girls(who didn't seem with it at all) about doing just the kids she said for liablity reasons she couldn't do just the kids without an adult... and adding another person to the pic would be at least another 10.Not what I wanted. She told us she knew the other pic shop we passed didn't do babies that small either and she didn't think the Heritage mall one would either and that we "would need to go to olan mills , or something". UGH! NO! Not what I want.

Sigh.
So we kept walking. way over heated. Giggling and checking stuff out.
Stef got harassed for groping a half naked mannequin and almost got us kicked out of one little mall area (LMAO). Rory talked Ri into getting her a lollipop from the candy store.
When we found the last pic shop if they did babies she rolled her eyes at the thought that they wouldn't, OF COARSE WE DO!
Yay! and her prices were MUCH better, and she seemed a lot nicer than the young girls at the last place. Plus, it was in the back of a well ACed mall.
She started getting out costumes for the kids. The cutest cowboy outfit for Mr.Cole , and a dancing girl costume for Rory.
"but very modest, no fishnets or anything crazy" she said, adding that I wouldn't believe how many people come in asking to dress their baby girls inappropriately.eww.
Rory wasn't sold on the dress up until she saw the pink feather boa she got to wear.
Boo had to hide behind the bar and hold Cole upright. She asked what sort of prop we wanted Rory to hold. A beer mug, a gun , or cards. I didn't really approve of the beer(" I don't know why I ranked violence more appropriate than drinking , okay Boo"LOL) ..but Rory didn't like the gun so cards..
Rory did soo great smiling and into it the whole time. She is a well practiced model. Cole did really excellent for a three month old. The photographer couldn't beleive he was so young.

Omg!How great did that turn out?! It looks like Cole is peeking at Rory's cards, and that she has a better hand than he hoped LOL
We drew a little crowd outside the shop.Aww a baby!
We had sort of thought we would only be able to afford a picture or two - but that place does the coolest thing giving you one pic and all the other pics on a disc! So we have loads of pics we can print off or photoshop..even cooler that the woman pretty encouraged me to later photoshop the images and copy the pictures. Imma recommend that place to everyone

We headed out of there to make our way to Lightner museum.
Stef and Wes had to leave though. Sort of sad they couldn't hang out longer and pretty much were only there long enough to watch the kids get pics.
We went through the park. I am BLISSFUL that street artists are allowed back, if only for the time being. I miss the st.auggy of years ago crowded with vendors and music .sigh.
Lissy and Boo stole my camera and ran off towards the cannons while me and Ri navigated Their bulky Rory filled stroller through the booths.

He does not look thrilled

I love this pic.
We were eying some REAL shea butter in a stand covered in natural items from Africa. I reallllly wanted it.,,but not for 10 bucks when we had already spent more money than we planned. Ri found some homemade soap called "African black soap " for five and started to buy it. The guy told us he would sell us the butter for 8 since we bought soap- listen, we aren't hagglers... we don't haggle, and even if we were the type, the sort of person that has a stand like this in st.auggy is the sort that I like giving my money to- so this made my day this african guy haggled for us LOL.Ri only had 7 and the guy gave us the shea butter with our soap-both really awesome produts from west africa .
I gushed about it to Lissy but they just thought I was trying to rationalize my purchase. No really its too cool! Googled that black soap and realized we got a really awesome deal on that ,too.Ri is in love with that soap and wants to go back and buy it in bulk now.
We were too late to go on the tour through the lightner... and oddly enough I have never even been through the museum.
We were all overheated and fussy. Lissy was getting really worried about Cole getting overheated- So we went back down St.george street in search of a place to eat with COLD drinks and fresh air. Went into a restraunt Ri had been in and met the owner of last week. Cole threw a huge fussy overheated teething baby tantrum - scared out the other restaurant patrons.( Honestly I think the old lady was scared of the boob when Lissy started to BF... its always the old ladies you have to worry about, not the old men or the kids)
I can't eat when I get overheated... we took turns walking the screaming overheated baby.
We made our way back to our cars after eating- spent more time in parking garge than planned (-ugh. maybe we shoulda bought a wii with that much spending).

Lissy headed home way overheated and we decided to hit the beach.Stopped in Surf Station -chatted up Ri's coworkers and helped him pick out a pair of sunglasses 1st.They are cool.. and I don't have a pic of him in them yet, sorry.

GOD . 1st nice weekend of the summer break AND fathers day holiday- it was crowded even though it was soo late in the day. We found a vaguely less crowded spot and jumped in. It felt amazing and we swam around awhile before heading back.
.. and stopped and bought Rory an ice cream cone like we promised.
Even feeling all cold and salty riding home at sunset feeling the beach on me felt soo nice.

You would think after having such a day Rory would be passed out early. nope. After our shower she was up and about AND stayed up till dawn,HOW?! tell me how is that even possible?Seriously.

Lissy and I had plans to go out with mom for my Birthday/fathers day...(excited to show mom and Dad the pic knowing they would love them)
She called to wake me up from my short crappy nap.
Val popped in quickly ringing me an awesome birthday present a super cute bonsai tree that I hope can keep alive.

I got up and got dressed- not sure what to wear. I was wearing a shirt and jeans but Lissy told me to put on my new dress and head wrap- and then she had to take pics as I snuck a smoke break and Rory got ready.

Gawd.My yard is overgrown to put it mildly- more on that later.

So we hoped in the car for moms- and hung out there a little while. Cuddling baby Cole- and me looking at my cool new bday gift a huge comforter sheet and Pillow set! Cool. My room looks soo nice

Lookat him trying to be big!

Then headed out to pick up Amy From her Bfs and go raid goodwill the way only we can. I found so many awesome shirts...and I really needed some.Amy started rushing us through the store after while, saying she was hungry. Anyone who has ever met a pregnant woman knows not to keep them waiting for food long.Well, we kept her waiting to long , and she hadn't had breakfast. We made it to the check out line, and Amy started to complain she wasn't feeling well- and turned white. I tried to accompany her to the car..but,she made it about 2 steps before we heard "SHIT! and her eyes went blank.. I pulled her towards me and

she passed out
- yeah- right in the front of goodwill.Poor girl!
I ran and got water from moms car while we finished checking out. Then we rode on to Pizza Hut. Sitting down having food brought to us and a salad while we waIted sounded great.Rory liked picking her own salad even if she didn't want the actual salad, or fruit
Lissy teased me for my child eating like an android- or clone or something. With a plate full of seperarte healthy food.mm Pizza was good, too.
We went to a few more shops and Rory bought me a present - a scrapbooking craft set which is much more for herself than me , but super cute and has kept her really busy so it is definitely nice.

Went to moms and grubbed on loads of junkfood and made convo , - said happy birthday back to my bro, before Lissy drove us home.

The cow jumping in search of the moon cloud.. can YOU see it?

Rory was passed out cold when we got her, Lissy made her get away and sent me to try and sleep. .. I didn't sleep long before people started calling to wish me happy birthday and we both woke up.sigh.
Ri's Mom called and asked how I liked the Alice in Wonderland belt buckle she got me- I love it and she had got one a similar for Ri long ago that I love ,too, but, I have no idea what to do with it.I don't wear belts, and I don't know how to go about finding one that isn't leather to put it on, and what jeans I could wear that with if I did. Lissy said I should put it on a purse.. and I might,if I can figure out a way.

Ri called telling me we just may have found someone to rent and fix up the house for us - so we can make an escape for St.Augustine. OH .. I am even afraid to hope and day dream about such thoughts while being equally stressed by the entire situation and cleaning my goddamn fingers off the past three days.Running on coffee and far to little sleep.. this time a lot of it self inflicted.
I am not in the mood to clean really. Just to organize and find a place for things... which means I have spent the last few days taking everything apart and making a bigger mess than anything.

and days and days worth of laundry(and look new pillows)and how am I too busy cleaning the never ending toy landslide and stressing about nothing but slim probabilities to not rest in my newly spiffied up bed.. and I think last night was the 1st in at least a year or two, trying to sleep in a clean room.but I didn't sleep, even after Rory was fast asleep
and look MORE LAUNDRY! My mind.it.is.lost.

Toys constant picking up of toys.I hate cleaning up toys while Rory is home, I will get it all neat and she will see and be like 'ooo i wanna play with that"= ahhhhhhhh! ..and I keep trying to put old toys in her closet only for her to suddenly be interested in it. lord ,buddha , satan ,flying spaghetti monster - one of you, help me.

I cleared the house of at least four huge boxes of junk and garbage... and we missed trash day this week...and we haven't even started on th overgrown backyard.
How overgrown , you say?
I found a fully grown ripe cantaloupe growing back there today.
THAT overgrown. LOL. It isn't a total shock I knew there was a squash plant growing out of the place I had the old compost heap( I moved it and started another) and thought that other plant that grew was just more of the same squash..and hadn't examined it - s the yard became overgrown with each storm.. but yeah. Fully grown cantaloupe , either my yard is overgrown at a disgusting rate, or I am a wonderful gardener with a giant yard, and fairies who care for it.
I'd bet on the overgrown one.Considering there is also knee high grass and a stack of cardboard we never recycled back there.I won't even start talking about the fence.
...and anyway, I am just sitting here procrastinating when I should be recleaning the kitchen and mopping the bathroom floor.

I begged Ri to have Jade come over and help him do the backyard tomorrow. Now, Ri is saying Momo is coming over in the morning. I hope she doesn't notice the back yard. ..and likes cantaloupe.
Oh yeah. the bathroom floor.

I been through hail,I've been to grandma's house!!!

I've had a weird week- It seemed like everyone had plans to do stuff with us ,wanted to see us and yet- nothing happened.
Actually, that is still happening with weekend plans and I guess that has become pretty normal and not weird at all. sigh.
Well, Sunday I woke up to the water being turned back on. RI fixed the sink. While I was still sleeping he had went to local hardware store and found parts to fix the weirdness of our ancient rigged up sink connection that blew out and spewed water all over my kitchen Wednesday evening. He told me if I cleaned up the kitchen he would make lunch. ..but as I started rinsing the other part broke and started spraying all over the floor again. -sigh- another trip to to the hardware store, another thing we needed. Really RI says all of the pvc and old piping under there needs fixed soon, but for now it was just the connection to the sinks water(and the odd cheap way they did it ) that needed replaced. We had to wait out the storm though it was pretty bad:

When it cleared up a bit we headed out, but Rory was a bit scared and it took some coaxing. We had to go all the way to Palatka though, the local hardware store closes much earlier.
Lissy had called hoping we would go out to dinner with them... with the water not working and a redirty kitchen I doubted we would be cooking,- and told her yes.BUT Ri didn't turn off the water at the pump just the sinks water- and he was worried about that leaking -blowing (I am showing my lack of knowledge on plumbing, just play along)
-like the rest of it had, and didn't want to stay out.
So I had to call and tell her no, and I felt like everyone had sort of let her down that day on that, and I was going to face the Jordanstyle wrath on it. ... and I was sort of irritated with Ri for having told me to call and say yes, and then having to call back..
Honestly, lately I have been a bit more irritated with Ri than normal, but thats neither here nor there, and I don't really feel like blogging about it all.
The good news is we found a really pretty rainbow on our way back from town

Rory had a dollar and we let her buy her own treat she picked an ice cream and paid for it all buy herself.

We came home and Ri made a huge batch of really awesome sgetti after he fixed the sink. for good.. well almost for good he still plans to replace it all under there.

Our sleep schedule has been beyond bizarre(say that three times fast) ..
I can't even describe it
. We aren't even entirely nocturnal its like naps and insomnia. OR not sleeping for 24 hours followed by 12 hours of sleep. eww. That stacked with adding loads of caffeine , sugar and fried foods to our diet this week has me feeling yucky now(even if it was all soo tasty going in) .
Rory has been awesomely creative lately. She is always coloring or drawing. Someday soon I am going to have to get some pictures of her art she has drawn some really great people lately.

Tuesday morning(I think its much harder to keep track of days sleeping so weird) I was still awake with Rory as the sun rose. I dragged her out of the house to walk Noobs.. even though she insisted she didn't want to go and was too tired to ride her bike or scooter.

Despite how cute she looked she whined pretty much the whole time. and the parks weren't open yet so we just walked She collected flowers and rocks. .. and worried about how "far away from home and lost" we were going to get , despite my reassurance we weren't.

Oh! We watched some cute hawks for a little while. Rory said is was a mom and little girl.. I am
pretty convinced it is a boy and a girl if you know what I mean...
I love shadows- yes I am wearing a dress and jeans. Can't walk the dog in a dress alone.
I was also wearing my head in that red head wrap. We walked along the sidewalk to do a big loop.
Passed BIGS(the bbq joint SIL manages) and saw SIL's BF Scott. He was shocked to see us at that hour of not quite daylight. I told him how it had made her whole day to see Haley the other day(when the nephew Jade came over to get his gatortail dinner in payment of his lawn mowing service)- and that she would really love Haley to come spend time with her.(more on that later) .

RI went to see Mel/SIL later and said Scott asked about the "turban" I was wearing.
He told them I was dreading my hair. Mel gasped with fear of me having to cut it all off afterward... um yea that would have happened had I not dreaded it.It was either dread my dead hair or cut off all my dead hair...sooo.

Yeah.
Well. My dreads.
They are coming out.

LOL
you wish,
NO.I am not taking them out.
I have been wearing my hair up for a month. Letting very little of my hair be seen, hiding away my nappy mess and beyond those reading about it here or the lucky few who have caught sight of me no one has known.
Its weird I have been sort of shy and quiet about it.I knew it would be a long time until they formed ,and thought I should hide them away and leave them alone -and for whatever reason keep it on the DL( until then?,whats that a year long "journey")
...Until the other day I've let go of the modesty about it.
I took some pics ,its a big mess.

For only being a little more than a month old they are forming really well.
I still fear they will all fall loose with each wash, or get weird and crazy. (er?)
Loads of frizzies- actually, that has been sooo weird. You know you would think stray hairs would be LESS of a problem with dreading hair. its all over the place sticking out in all directions. In fact quite often I sport a bandana or some head gear around the house- just to hold stray hairs out of my face.
The wet looking one in front of my ear- its aloe. I have had trouble with the ones around my ears- moving them from in front of to behind my ears keep trying to split apart. The aloe really helps and is a good alt to waxing them for neatness.Actually, after taking these pics I ended up putting wraps on the top of that one, and it partner on the other side.
It's hard to take pics of yourself..even harder with a monkey
...and yet the monkey always takes great pics, and I am the one that looks away.

So there is and update on the mess on my head... and another pic of the mess on the monkey's head
I tossed a buncha beans and tomatoes in the crock pot for dinner... then made rice.It turned out awesome. Ri came home with soda and candy for dessert. An early Bday present for me. Oh, and a present from his mom. She got me an Alice in wonderland belt buckle ,like Ri's for my birthday its pretty cool... but I don't have a belt to put it on(nor know where to get one that isnt leather)- and I am not even sure if I own a pair of jeans with belt loops? ...

Rory was messsssy! I manged to get her in the bath finally that night. and after fighting sooo long she stayed in for hours before it got cold and I still had to drag her out! She even washed her hair by herself (with baking soda and diluted lemon juice :o !) .

We had to go all the way to Gainsville for Rory's dentist appointment on Thursday- So I just stayed up all night and we started getting ready to go. When I was starting to get Rory ready and about to put her carseat in the car I found this:

Poor sleepy thing.
She slept almost all the way there... after some initial carsickness that sent Ri running into the store to get her a light snack to settle her tummy(she cannot ride with an empty belly).

Rory did WONDERFUL at her appointment, like always! Part of the reason I love her dentist and want her to keep going there, despite the fact we no longer have medicaid to pay for it and it is insanely overpriced and a two hour drive.- They are too nice,Rory loves it there, they have tvs in the ceiling , they are the only place anywhere nearby experienced with pediatric dental surgery should she need it , and she does so well going back for her appointment on her own.

She has had little tiny plaque on her front teeth, they said they are keeping an eye on but don't want to do anything to right now. They said otherwise her teeth are perfect, and she did amazing and we don't need to come back again until her next cleaning- woohoo! She was happy they didn't "do any of the hurty stuff", but hated the "disgusting minty stuff"(fluoride)
She also asked the hygienist ,what the toothfairy does with baby teeth.(Since they are tooth experts) , she said they recycle them to new babies since they are baby teeth. Rory said it made sense, but didn't look entirely convinced. Though she did say "she is the best" about the hygenist.
The receptionist looked at Ri and whispered "is she always this verbal?"

I told Rory I was proud of her- she said "I am proud of me too"
We went to walmart and got a few random household items we needed...and still forgot dishwasher tabs - Rory picked out a hula hoop since her last one broke. We stopped by sonic and got the food& drinks I had been craving . Haven't had sonic in a good long time.

I was so so so tired when we got home I crashed hard on the couch. When I woke up there were two little girls playing on my floor.

RI had went and picked up his neice Haley

They played all afternoon. Rory kept her really busy. I think she had fun -even though they have a pretty large age gap. About the time Mel was coming over to pick her up her brothers showed up.LOL , that was pretty funny ,because it was in the middle of the girls playing hide & seek and Rory couldn't find Haley. So when Jade came in she told him all about it. Like,"OMG we lost Haley your mom is going to be soo mad when she gets here". Jade is obviously used to finding Haley and walked right to where she was .

Mel brought us a plethora of fried veggies and some coleslaw from the BBQ joint. Dinner was sort of rough with an overtired Rory. UGH- way too much fried food for a day.
After we ate she curled up on the couch with me and went right to sleep. Slept all night, I even had to wake HER up this morning. She must have really needed to catch up though- because after playing and being a wollory cuddle butt all day she is back asleep all to early now. Sigh.
At least Ri is off work again tomorrow...
Now, if only we could figure out what exactly we are going to do tomorrow to celebrate my birthday and fathers day.

The title is a nod to Amy. You have to say the sentence in a deep almost Georgia accent(glad she outgrew that accent she picked up from her babysitter)- .(Hail- hell though its more a matter of hell sounding like hail in that accent than vise versa) .

When she was around Rory's age it hailed and Lissy said to her "oh ! Amy you have to look you have never seen it hail!!" ..Amy's insulted yelling response that she had seen hail at grandma's house has been repeated many times when sharing cute things kids say, and I couldn't think of a title. lol.

What does the tooth fairy do with baby teeth?

Too cute vid I had to get it up before writing out a big blog about what's been up- and postin tons of pics and at least one more vid.
sorry, I'm not doing that today either. .

Been vaguly busy and have more to do tomorrow(EEkkk WE forgot about Rory's dentist appt, and how she no longer has medicaide and it will be pricey :( )
I need to go clean.
Talk to you reall soon.If I ever get on the ball.

..and then what happened?!

funny pictures
moar funny pictures
thanx rickjames.

I have no clue why I found that title fitting...my thoughts be crazy fueled by too much caffeine ..

I'm back , with cupcakes!

Sorry for my small hiatus , Rory's nocturnal ways went full swing and threw me into a big grumpy whiny mess..
Plus, I slacked on taking pictures this week- pretty horribly actually, because we did do a few things, and i took my camera, but failed to snap off any pictures.
The bugs out here have been insane with all the constant rain and a county full of standing water puddles to breed in, the constant bug bites have not helped with my mood.I have decided to eat mass quantities of garlic in hopes of making myself less appealing to them, it worked last year.

Rory decided she had pretty princess sprinkles and we had frosting, so it was time to make cupcakes.I added flaxmeal, and wheat flour to a vegan cupcake recipe, they turned out pretty awesome- this short vid is too cute too:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ri had promised Rory cupcakes Friday(for doughnut day) and brought some home that night. donuts and cupcakes -oh my. I did manage to get real food in her though...and I comforted myself knowing the cupcakes were vaguely healthy.

We went to a Sunday Dinner at moms- with Lissy (and her fam). We hung out ,played , and yummy food and chatted awhile- Lissy only stayed a bit they were running her cute baby to all the relatives for visits.Rory and I stayed pretty late though. Dad is not impressed with my hair, and decided -between the dreads and the facial piercing I should come with a disclaimer,
''not approved by Sam Hogg", or something?lol.
Mom ,Amy and me went through old clothes and found me some hand me down stuff.
OH- I finally sort of met Amy's BF, baby daddy- for a second. He drives on of those decaled up, wanna be 'fast and furious' cars with a tail and all, the sort me and Ri always make fun of.He pretty much came in and ran away. Lissy says it is because he knows she doesn't like him... that bounced into a discussion about how we expect her to be hateful, and she was like "What do you think I am Jordan Cox"
...."well, no,but now that you mention it" That left us googling scrubs clips of her for awhile. yeah, its fitting.
Jordan iconjordan iconsjordan icon

..well, she said it.

Moms talking about trading Amy's bunk bed for Rory's crib- Amy will need a bed though... and I am not sure Rory is ready for a bunk bed.It could be cool though.

----We interrupt this flashback of the week segment of the blog to bring you current breaking news.---

So , a few hours ago, Rory fell asleep(way too early grr), and before gearing the house up for "night time, don't be nocturnal go bed sleepy" mode I head to the kitchen to get food...I heard a spraying water sound ,but assumed it was the sound of the dishwashers rinse cycle, until I notice water on the floor.I open the cabinets under the sink to see water spraying out at me. Oh god!FIND THE PHONE!I wake up Rory looking for it, I tear apart the house for the phone - speed dial ri, ANSWER ANSWER ANSWER. I don't know how to turn off the water. I can't even see where it is spraying from- OMG soooo much water pooling up! Finally Rian answers -walks me through turning off the water(which I am sure the screaming into the phone, holding a giant t-wrench rushed crazy lady scene was entertaining to my elderly neighbors) I almost couldn't turn it off! I was panicking knowing the water was building in here...by the time I returned to the kitchen there was puddles of ankle deep water!!(wow my floors are uneven) a pool under my cabinets.Ri was proud of me for handling it though.
I called mom to see if they could help, she sent JJ over- amazingly by the time he got here I had the water part pretty much under control(lots of sweeping ,toweling and pushing water I am soaked and tired.)JJ could see the problem but there is nothing he could do.We need a new connector for the dishwasher hose, luckily Ri is off tomorrow.
---anyways back to your regularly scheduled backtracking.........
-----

Monday, Jade finally managed to mow the yard-thank goodness!! Now Ri owes him gatortail dinner from Cowboys. the back yard still needs to be done- but I still need to figure a way to separate out the garden & composty part in the middle. ..and it'll need to be cleaned up 1st.
our terrible sleep schedule had me raving mad Monday and Tuesday(and maybe Wednesday).
I've tried all sorts of tricks to get her to bed, or to not nap, or to wake up.Those things only manage make ME tired and grumpy. I am a zombie . I think Rory's internal clock is broken I have lost hope for it- she has this . How can a child not go to bed with the lights out and nothing to do? How can she sleep in and be grump beyond the point of return if she is awoken before noon???? I blame my genetics, well not mine ,my brother has it too, I think- did as a child according to mom. grrr.

Tuesday ,I was having a really grumpy afternoon after waking up too late-
Ri got off work early. Our friend Ben(you may remember from my disney pics and blogs) - was having a wedding party of sorts. His beautiful girlfriend ,(who he rushed over for us to meet recently )- was pregnant ,and they up and ran off and eloped!
So we got ready and head to Ben's parents for the party.
Ri grew up hanging with Ben's family, and they all recognized him and were happy to finally meet me and Rory

Rory made fast friends with Ben's young cousin Emily- they went swimming in the pool , ate and played the whole time-super cute. While me and Ri chatted away with old friends and new. Ri consumed large quantities of meat products. Ben's grandmother gave the girls some sugar free wafer cookies, Rory won hearts by replying "these are great! tastes like REAL FOOD!"

..and Ri and I had discussions of jobs, and parenting. We also overheard a really interesting open religious discussion get started in the most ominous of ways- Drunk white guy says to drinking Laotian guys "So, I gotta question for you guys- an' I dun mean to offend ya... You're both Asian , are ya Buddhist, too?"
The guys say " yeah, well,Non practicing" and a really interesting discussion started, that was really nice polite and openminded for a drunken discussion of spirituality.huh...

We had a really great time.Rory was sad to go- and wanted to stay and play on the scooter they had- so Ben's mom insisted she take it(since Emily has two)
.. Rory was thrilled but still sad to leave. We had a really great time.

the next day Rory had to test out her scooter...

MUSH Noobie!!
It was crazy hot out (99 f!!!) and we just stayed around the house a little before heading back

We were soo hot we decided to go to Ri's moms for a swim in the pool. She had managed to get it up all by herself- though the old pool is starting to look like it is on its last leg. We swam , Rory realized she could touch the bottom on her tiptoes and swam around like a pro..with her waterwings. ...and I didn't take a single picture.

We hung out awhile. Lynn's(ri's mom) landlord stopped in-hadn't seen him in years. Ri caught up with him for a little bit while I cuddled sleepy Rory and watched cartoons.

Rory was sleepy , and we didn't fair well trying to keep her awake on our rde to get pizza :( .. she didn't nap long... and we kept her awake and got her to eat pizza, then brushed her teeth and night staged the house, and rocked her in hopes of getting her to bed- it didn't work but once again she was awake late and now, all the sleepy mode tricks have worked on me-putting me at my wits end and VERY sleepy over it. Ri got in contact with and friend from LONG ago on myspace recently, and that night had went to his house and chatted with him a and his mom about old times... I ended calling Ri and begging him to come home, and hiding in the bathtub.
I was extra stressed because I had a morning appt or the dentist to rush to the next day.. I was sure I would end up on no sleep, and I did getting ready for my appt or hours before hand primping and changing clothes(and yet the closer time came the more i was rushing to find just what I wanted to wear and unsatisfied with everything I put on-ohhai fatigue induced ocd!-.)Woke Rory up, well tried, and got the limp child dressed.

Dentist appointment went...um, alright. It was my cleaning appt, and 1st I had had in a long while, my dentalhygienist(I like her, she is pretty cool and always nice- I realized this visit she is at least 10 years older than I thought tho, whoa!) she had just got back from some time off as well. She kept having to search for all her tools as others had used her room and rearranged. ..Plus I needed a lot o yearly extra stuff done. Xray gum testings-the whole deal, along with my regular scrapping- flossing- brushing- fluoride visit. She was impressed with my teeth/gums though.
All looked great on exam, but the Xray revealed tiny little cavities between my teeth. She looked a bit dumbfounded by it herself and almost wrote me a 'script for fluoride, before writing down an overthecounter version and recommendations of nightly use...and sending me out to make filling appointments, sigh.I hate having shitty teeth, even worse when even your hygienist can SEE you do everything and your teeth are still just shitty. :( It ended up being pricey, but cheaper than I feared after the initial scare when she told me I needed new xrays.

Ri got back from walmart with the kid and made himself an appt to get a tooth fixed. I am trying to convince him he needs regular visits, and it will end up cheaper than FIX visits over time.(I mean, hey look at my case where they did they xray and caught the tiny cavities that will be costing me a small spot filling instead of a pricey filling -or all out rootcanal price!) ..it is utter bullshit though that such thins aren't covered like other medical care and sooo freakin ungodly pricey.Ri wasn't too happy about the price of the fluoride for home treatment either.

Ri had to work for a little bit at Nalu's that evening. Somehow- Rory fell asleep before he even got home. I was deliriously tired and shut everything off and went to bed myself. Late that night I DID hear Rory wake up and cuddle on the couch with Ri. i thought she went back to sleep, and just rolled over- but she kept him up a bit,and he just let me sleep, awww!
I slept over 12 hours! I felt sooo much better when I woke up at 11am and started cleaning. I did dishes, made cupcakes and Rory begged for "Fries, since it is Friday" mopped, everything I have been meaning to do all day - then Rory fell asleep..and well that water thing up
there ^^^ -happened. :( .
yeah... and I have been blogging since. (With loads of breaks and distractions because I am not focused.) Rory JUST fell asleep at 5 am, so all hopes that we fixed her schedule when the ast two days she has awoke early-out the window. sigh. I had ri bring me home soda, He is crazy exhausted, and it looks like tomorrow he gets the day off and we have a hardware shopping trip.fun .fun.

Oh- sidenote.Sari had a job interview yesterday fingers crossed she gets it.

&I'm going to bed.
